Wessex League CycloCross
The Wessex Cyclo-Cross League organized by cycling clubs in the Wessex Region, offers a series of races open to cyclists of all abilities and ages from 7 to 70. Taking place from September to January, the league typically consists of 12 races, with each race contributing to the overall standings for individuals and clubs.
At the end of the season, a presentation evening is held where awards are given out in various age categories for both individual and team performances. The Wessex region, which includes Hampshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, and Wiltshire, hosts races in locations such as Oxford, Reading, Swindon, and Southampton. Newbury Velo has affiliated with The Wessex Cyclo-Cross League, racing is open to all club members who will contribute to Newbury Velo’s club points in the 2024/2025 league. As we have affiliated ALL club members are automatically affiliated.
Newbury Velo hosts the Wessex CX event that takes place in KingsClere.
The Wessex Cyclo-Cross League is a friendly, grass-roots branch of cycle sport and riders of all abilities are welcome to take part. At each event there are usually separate races for Under 12s, Under 16s, Senior Men and a combined Junior/Veteran/Women race.
