Capture the Ride… Newbury Velo Photography

At Newbury Velo, we believe that cycling memories deserve to be preserved. Our club brings together cyclists of all disciplines and abilities, from competitive racers to weekend adventurers, and our Club photographers are there to document these experiences every pedal stroke of the way. We host our galleries on a photo-specific platform, which is owned and managed by our photographers, David and Gareth.

Throughout the year, Newbury Velo hosts numerous events spanning road races, time trials, cyclocross competitions, club rides, The Newbury Triathlon and social gatherings. These moments create the fabric of our Club, and we're fortunate to have some very talented photographers who volunteer their time and expertise to capture the spirit, determination, and camaraderie that define Newbury Velo.

Meet Our Club Photographers

Newbury Velo Photography is led by our dedicated Club photographers Gareth Davies and David Hill, whose keen eyes and quick reflexes have documented countless cycling moments over the years. Their work forms the backbone of our visual archive, supplemented by contributions from other talented club members who occasionally share their perspectives from behind the lens.

Our photographers can often be spotted at key points along race routes or mingling at club events, cameras in hand, working to capture those perfect moments that tell the story of Newbury Velo.

Gareth Davies

A camera-wielding fixture at Newbury Velo events and familiar face to most club members. When not capturing your best cycling moments, Gareth’is training as a mountain bike coach to sharpen our collective skills on the trails. By day, he's a Health and Safety Director; by night, you'll find him either cheering on the rugby pitch or astride two wheels—sometimes with an engine, sometimes without.

David Hill

Our NVXC lead, Newbury Velo's dedicated off-road group, and certified mountain bike coach. During working hours, David manages a sprawling rural estate for a local charitable trust, while his photography serves as a creative side-hustle. He's been balancing cameras and bike saddles since childhood, cheerfully claiming to be "fairly average at both" despite evidence to the contrary.

Our Photograph Galleries

To make these images accessible to all participants, competitors, and supporters, we've created a dedicated gallery website. This specialized gallery allows you to:

  • Browse photos from recent and past club events

  • Download high-resolution images for personal use (no commercial use without permission)

  • Share your cycling moments with friends and family

  • Relive the excitement and atmosphere of club activities

The photography site is operated by individual Club members and represents our commitment to celebrating and documenting our shared cycling and triathlon passion through vibrant photography.
