The day didn't start out well with heavy rain and flash flooding but the weather elves at Velo Towers did the little dance and the rain slowly went away. With the low air pressure caused by the lingering booms of thunder it was sure to be a fast night, and the 88 starters on the night did not disappoint us.
Overall scratch winner with a stonking time and new course record of 18:31 was Richard Bussell of AeroCoach, he may have been fastest but he by no means stole the show. Fastest Female was Isabel Sharp of Drag2Zero with a time of 21:29, at 15 years old! Watch out ladies! Fastest Junior Male was Harvey McLean with another amazing time of 19:42 putting him 4th on scratch against some pretty big names.
We hope you enjoyed the event and our live results system :)
I'd like to thank all the volunteers, Jaymi Dooley & Rachael Elliott at HQ, keeping order at the start line Louise Barham & Anthony Hackett and Ian Greenstreet as start time keeper. Collette & Glenn Haworth for their photos (shared in the album below) and Craig Gardner for spotting, at what times was quite frantic.
We've enjoyed hosting you. We hope you'll all come back next season when we may have a bit more normality. Ride Safe. Ride Strong.
